Whimsicals Passion Flower is our first llama. She has been a joy to own, and we are now expecting our first cria (baby llama) in 2006. Passion is a friend and guardian of our goats as well as a "pet" for us. Llamas do not spit as much as people think they do, and really do make great guard animals. In addition to guarding, llama uses include fiber, packing, showing and cart pulling. Our llama doesn't do any of that. :) She just gets to hang out and be a llama. She doesn't have as much fiber as many llamas do, which helps make her low maintenance and easy to care for.

In our area, coyotes can be a problem and we have found having a llama around has really made a difference. We have not seen any coyotes near the goat pasture or lost any chickens to coyotes since introducing Passion to our herd. Caring for a llama does not add much work day-to-day, they do need sheared once a year in warm weather, however. Llama manure is great for gardens, and is easy to clean as they tend to have "bathroom" areas, rather than just going everywhere like the goats do.

Crias for sale will be available at times, so please check back or contact us if you are interested in crias, or guard llamas for goats. Our llamas will be accustomed to goats and ready to fit right into your herd. We will be buying more female llamas in the future and will have some very nice babies for sale.

We also have a few other goats that do fit in our Fainter and Nubian catagories. If you have any questions about any of them, please feel free to contact us, as always!

Jade
50% Boer/Alpine

Jade is bred to a Boer buck, and due in January 2006. She still has quite a bit of Alpine showing in her, but is a large, strong doe. Her kids should be a nice size, and we will be retaining a doeling out of her.
We are going to try to train Jade to pull a small cart for the kids.

Moonbeam
50% Boer/Alpine

Moonbeam is bred to a Boer buck and also due in January 2006. She shows a little more of the Boer type than Jade does, but doesn't have Jades size. We will be looking forward to seeing what her kids are like. We will be retaining a doeling out of her.
She may be for sale after her kids are weaned.

Penny
Alpine/Pygmy (?)

Penny is my daughters goat, and also our herd queen. She may be small, but she makes sure everyone knows the rules. Her rules! Penny is also used for the occasional petting zoo.
