Who We Are:
My
husband and I have two small children that are the light of our
lives. Both the kids have energy to spare and love playing with
the animals. My husband is a mechanic and I stay at home with the
kids and do graphics and websites from home when the kids go to
bed... Which makes for some very late nights, but the kids make
sure I'm up bright and early every morning.
In the summer we all enjoy spending as much time outside as we can.
There's nothing better than the sun beating down on your face as
you watch the kids play in the yard. I spend most of my summer days
around the barn. Sometimes just sitting and watching the animals
is the best way to spend an afternoon. New babies to play with in
the spring is always a highlight of the year for all of us.

There is always something to do, and I don't think I've ever once
heard the kids say they are bored. Spring and summer bring new fence
to put up, old fence to repair, yard work and bonfires. Every year
I look forward to seeing the first lightning bugs and catching as
many as we can. So far, I'm still the best lightning bug catcher.
:) We all also enjoy fishing,. we mostly catch bass and perch, but
the kids like to catch sunfish. Since I'm the biggest fisherman
of the family, I am usually trying to wake my husband at the crack
of dawn to get out there... and saying "Just one more cast,
Hunny!" as he loads the car in the dark. He'll tell you he
catches more/bigger fish than I do, but if you average it out, I
think we're about even. ;-)

We like variety, so its no surprise there is a little of everything
here. Aside from the goats, you will find everything from our Arabian
gelding to Flemish giant rabbits, ducks, chickens and even snakes
and chameleons. There isn't a species I don't have some sort of
interest in. Its a lot of work, of course, but when you love what
you do its never too hard. The kids are a big help in the barn,
collecting eggs, brushing the animals, and training the goats to
lead. They are learning what it takes to care for each animal and
how to work together to get a job done. While we do have all the
normal squabbles that come with siblings, for the most part they
are eachothers best friend and always seem to work things out. Even
the animals all get along.... most of the time. :)
Friends and family have been a big help in always lending a hand
when we need it. We are very grateful to have such wonderful people
in our lives. They each have gone out of their way to put up fence,
help with repairs or whatever else is needed. They are always there
when we need them, and I can't thank them enough. Very special Thanks
to our family, Becky, Ashton, Jim and Dave. Over the years they
have really made a difference in our lives and our farm.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us and
our farm. I hope your visit to our website is enjoyable. If you
would like to visit the farm in person, please give us a call or
email so we can make sure we're home.
Update 2006: I was diagnosed with AML Leukemia,
we are going to try a stem cell transplant May 24th. I'm a fighter,
and will fight to stay here as long as my kids need me. I can't
wait until I am healthy enough to get back to taking care of the
barn and doing web design again. Thank you to all my friends and
family that have prayed for me and stuck by my side! I love you
all!
